Bio
Dr. Emilija Toshikj is an associate professor of mechanical engineering and textile chemistry at the Textile Department, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. She is the author of more than 15 peer-reviewed papers and proceedings at national and international congresses.
She joined many projects and finalized research projects: Monitoring of Cellulose Oxidation Level by Electrokinetic Phenomena and Numeric Prediction Model, a Project financed by Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. PI: Associate Prof. Dr. Emilija Toshikj, 2019/2020; CA17107 COST Action (CONTEXT) European Network to connect research and innovation efforts on advanced Smart Textiles, Char of the action, Dr. Ariadna Detrell Domingo. Associate prof. Emilija Toshikj is an MC member in this action, 2018-2023, etc.
Her fields of expertise include: textile printing, enzymatic treatments of textile fabrics, surface modification of fibers with enzymes and oxidants, textile dyeing with natural dyes, observation of cloth appearance after home laundering, antimicrobial textile on the basis of natural antimicrobial agents, etc.
