SOME FRUIT AND SEED CHARACTERISTICS OF KADINCIK SHRUB (Flueggea anatolica Gemici) POPULATION IN THE TARSUS REGION, MERSİN
Abstract
In this study, some fruit and seed characteristics of Kadıncık shrub (Flueggea anatolica Gemici) population in the Kadıncık valley of the Tarsus region, Mersin were investigated. In the population, the mean fruit width, fruit length, fruit weight, seed number per fruit and fruit stalk length were determined to be 6.38 mm, 3.97 mm, 0.090 g, 6.01 and 17.15 mm, respectively. The fruits ripen in September and October. The mean seed width, seed length, seed thickness and 1000-seed weight were 2.08 mm, 2.69 mm, 1.95 mm and 5.339 g, respectively. The seeds had dormancy and the germination percentage of the seeds applied 30-day cold-moist stratification was found to be 1.89%. The proportion of filled seeds was 73.25%. The effects of stratification periods longer than 1 month on seed germination should be tested.

MERSİN-TARSUS YÖRESİNDEKİ KADINCIK ÇALISI (Flueggea anatolica Gemici) POPULASYONUNUN BAZI MEYVE VE TOHUM ÖZELLİKLERİ
Abstract
Bu çalışmada, Mersin-Tarsus yöresindeki Kadıncık vadisinde bulunan Kadıncık çalısı (Flueggea anatolica Gemici) populasyonunun bazı meyve ve tohum özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Populasyonda ortalama meyve eni 6.38 mm, meyve boyu 3.97 mm, meyve ağırlığı 0.090 g, meyvedeki tohum sayısı 6.01 adet ve meyve sapı uzunluğu 17.15 mm olarak belirlenmiştir. Meyveler Eylül ve Ekim aylarında olgunlaşmaktadır. Ortalama tohum eni 2.08 mm, tohum boyu 2.69 mm ve tohum kalınlığı 1.95 mm olup; 1000 tane ağırlığı 5.339 g'dır. Tohumlarda çimlenme engeli bulunmakta olup, 30 gün soğuk-ıslak katlama uygulanmış tohumlarda çimlenme yüzdesi %1.89 olarak bulunmuştur. Dolu tohum oranı %73.25'dir. 1 aydan daha uzun katlama sürelerinin tohum çimlenmesi üzerine olan etkilerinin denenmesinde fayda vardır.
